The Mechanical Engineering Department was established in the year 1958 with an intake capacity of 30 students per year. Later on the intake capacity was increased up to 75 students per year. Part time diploma course in Mechanical Engineering was also started in 1984 with intake capacity of 30 students per year.
The department has excellent infrastructure and Wi-Fi connectivity, with well equipped laboratories, along with a large workshop.
Apart from learning theoretical and practical concepts in Mechanical engineering, the students are also exposed to industrial environment through industrial visits/trainings and guest lectures, and also NSS, NCC, cultural and sports events.
Almost all the passing out students are successfully placed in various government, public sectors and private sector companies through the campus placements.

The entire nine Diploma program presently offered by the Institution are approved by AICTE. From time to time approvals and renewal of approvals have been received from AICTE.
